Kresnik Prize 2024 for the best novel of the year
Nominated for the Cankar award 2024
Nominated for the award kritiško sito 2024
The novel Pričakovanja (Expectations) was published by Cankarjeva založba. The novel deals with infertility and artificial insemination, two topics that rarely, if ever, appear in literature, which is interesting given the rise in infertility among both women and men (according to some data, one in seven couples is thought to be infertile). It shows that the subject of infertility is still taboo.

The seven short stories in Bee Family are linked by rituals, ancient customs and traditions of Slovenian culture which are transposed into a different context or a contemporary setting, where they take on a new role and shape. The theme of family is in the fore ground: we read about an unrealised family, a family brought together and separated by the circumstances of life, a family that could become real in another setting.
The book Bee Family was published in: Croatian (Link), Bulgarian (Link), Italian (Link), Macedonian (Link) and Hungarian (Link) translation.
Others about the book:
Nominaton for Kresnik Award for the Best Slovene Novel of the year
The novel Spovin is a suspenseful narrative framed in the detective novel tradition, it describes love and revenge among the vineyards of Brda, the idyllic winegrowing region close to the Adriatic coast. Opening up the social background, the book reaches from family relationships to the local community, the region, and the convergence of two cultures. One fulcrum of the novel, the conflict between vintner Domenis and his rival Budal, provides a starting-point for reflecting on the nature and role of collective memory in shaping the individual’s memory and faith. The book Spovin was nominated for the 2018 Kresnik Award for the Best Slovene Novel of the year.
